SUBJECT; New "CityVision" program; Increas d Meeting Re-plays on MBTV 77
As part of Miami Beach's ongoing efforts to provide enhanced information about the City to
the community, we are now airing the latest edition of "CityVision" on MBTV 77, our
government access cable TV station. Additionally, we have increased the number of times
regulatory committee and board meetings are replayed monthly on MBTV 77.
As you know, "CityVision" is a 30-minute news magazine show produced monthly by our
Communications Department specifically to illustrate the City's progress in meeting the goals
of our Strategic Plan, and to provide information to our residents on current events,
programs and services that affect them. "CityVision" airs on MBTV 77 Monday through
Wednesday and Friday at 7:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. On
Saturday "CityVision" airs at 7:30 a.m., 5:30 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. On Sundays the program is
seen at 7:00 a.m. This month's new program can be viewed from the on-line video archives
at www.miamibeachfl.gov/video/video archive asp#cv. Please let us know if you would like
us to provide you with a DVD of this months show.
The February "CityVision" program includes a report on the new Education Compact with the
Miami-Dade County Schools, an update on the CIP's neighborhood right-of-way construction
program, a review of the New World Symphony groundbreaking event, a report on the very
successful North Beach "Shop Hop" program, and a front row seat at the new North Shore
Teen Club's play "Dysfunctional." The show was filmed at the Flamingo Bark Park and
includes a video tour of the Bark Park, and an interview with Rhonda Gracie, Landscapes
Projects Coordinator. Ms. Gracie describes Bark Park benefits for both dog owners as well
as their pets. Additional information on parks and recreation activities, and the result of the
election is also included.
Future "CityVision" editions will, among other topics, include a report on impacts of the
January, 2008 Property Tax Reform vote, an explanation of changes to the ordinance
regulating commercial use of single family homes, a taste of the Food Network South Beach
Wine & Food Festival, an explanation of how Miami Beach promotes tourism through the
Visitor and Convention Authority, and a look at the Special Olympics.
MBTV provides residents convenient and direct access to view live and recorded monthly
meetings of the City Commission and the five regulatory Committees and Boards. In
response to viewer comments, the number of playbacks of the Historic Preservation Board,
the Planning Board, the Board of Adjustment, the G O Bond Oversight Committee and the
Design Review Board meetings has been doubled. The meetings now can be seen at 10:00
a.m. on Thursday throughout the month, in addition to the regular 9:00 p.m. playback times

on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. City Commission meetings are
