SUBJECT: VALIDATED PARKING PROGRAM FOR CITY COMMISSION MEETINGS
As requested by the City Commission, the Adminislration will implement a validated parking program for
attendees of City Commission meetings and any citizen visiting and/or participating at a scheduled Meeting
of the Mayor and Commission when there is a conflicting event scheduled at the Convention Center which
precludes the public 's use of the preferred lot. This validation program will be in effect immediately.
Citizens visiting and/or participating at scheduled Meetings of the Mayor and City Commission may park
at the 17th Street Municipal Parking Garage and receive up to four (4) hours of parking subsidized by the
City of Miami Beach.
A citizen must present the City Clerk (or designee) with the date/time stamped ticket received, at entry, at
the 17th Street Municipal Parking Garage. The City Clerk will affix a self-adhesive stamp (validation) to
the ticket (not on magnetic strip) entitling the citizen to up to four hours of parking. (The Parking Department
will provide the City Clerk with the self-adhesive stamps.) Upon placement of the stamp, the City Clerk
must initial and date the stamp. Also, the City Clerk will keep a record (log) of all those receiving the
validation requiring photo identification (driver's license) from the validation recipient. The log should
contain the following information: date/time, name, address, and signature.
The Parking Department will establish a validation code for the processing of the exiting transaction from
the facility which will be transparent to the customer. The Parking Department will also maintain a record
(log) of all validation transactions, including date/time, name, address, and signature.
The Parking Department will account/reconcile validations monthly and a request for mmsfer of funds equal
to 50% of the value of the total validation for the month will be paid by the City as determined by the
Finance Director.
