URBAN INFILL GRANT

As you know, the City was awarded $40,000 from the Florida Department of Community Affairs'
Urban Infill and Redevelopment Grant Program, The purpose of this grant is to develop an infill and
revitalization strategy utilizing a holistic and collaborative community participation planning
process, The specific area of focus identified for this project is the 5th Street corridor, bordered on
the north and south by 7th & 4th Streets, and on the west and east by Alton Road and Collins Avenue,
The planning process under this grant includes, but is not limited to, the following issues:
transportation, health care, housing, crime, economic development, social services, education and
infrastructure,
The grant application requires that the City provide a workplan of the planning process, which is
attached, for your review,
During the preparation of the grant, several Commissioners have requested that their aides be
involved in this project, If you or your aides would like to be involved, please contact the Economic
Development Division, which will be coordinating the implementation of this project,
Please contact me if you have any comments, questions or recommendations as this project moves
forward.
