RECENT APPOINTMENT

This Letter to the Commission is to inform you of a recent appointment I have made in the
Administration. Under separate cover, I will inform you ofrecent changes to assignments within
the City Manager's Office.
Effective May 21, 2001, Ramiro Inguanzo will join the City of Miami Beach as my Chief of Staff.
Ramiro joins us with a varied portfolio of experience in. the public, not-for-profit and private
sectors. Ramiro will be relocating from Washington, D.C., where he was the Director,
Leadership Development Programs for the Council for Excellence in Government a not-for-profit
organization dedicated to developing leadership and innovation in the public sector. There, he was
responsible for coordinating and implementing leadership development programs for senior level
managers in the U.S. Federal Government. In addition, he coordinated projects for the prestigious
Innovations in American Government Awards, a partnership with the Ford Foundation and
Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government which recognizes programs in local, state
and federal government.
Prior to his work with the Council, Ramiro was the Assistant Dean of Students for the Miami-
Dade Community College, Wolfson Campus. He has also served the Florida Postsecondary
Education Planning Commission as a Commissioner and the Florida House of Representatives',
Appropriations Committee as a Legislative Fellow.
Ramiro will be responsible for providing direct support to the City Manager's Office to ensure our
high quality, customer service environment is continued and expanded. Ramiro will represent me
and my office in a variety of forums to ensure that the Administration is responsive to our
constituents and that we resolve all concerns in a timely and effective manner.
