SUBJECT: Appointment of Emanuel Mayer as Special Assistant for Construction Issues
The purpose of this LTC is to advise you that I have appointed Emanuel Mayer as a
Special Assistant to the City Manager for Construction Issues, effective Monday,
November 3, 2008. As you know, this is a new position created to address concerns
expressed by the City Commission regarding how we procure and manage construction
services in the City as well as the cost that the City pays for same. Emanuel will make
recommendations on these functions directly to me and will work closely with the CIP
Office and the Public Works Department.
Emanuel has fifteen (15) years of varied construction experience in engineering and
contracting in both the commercial and residential sectors. He has extensive experience
in A/E and contractor negotiations for services and has performed cost estimating and
claims support services.
Emanuel is a Licensed General Contractor in the State of Florida and is also a degreed
engineer. He has held construction industry positions for the United Nations
Development Program, Arber and Associates, and for his own firm, Mayer Development
Group. A copy of his resume is attached.
Please join me in welcoming Emanuel Mayer to the City. I know you will find him to be
as competent and capable to serve the City in this capacity as I do.
