Miami Beach Hosts Fire Promotion Ceremony with Surprise Visit
– City of Miami Firefighter Returns from Afghanistan –
WHO/WHAT: Miami Beach Fire will be hosting a fire promotion ceremony this evening
at 6 p.m. with a special visit from City of Miami Firefighter Ivan Chavez.
Firefighter Chavez is returning home from nearly a year tour in
Afghanistan where he served as Chief Warrant Officer 4 for the U.S.
Marines. He is set to open up the ceremony with the Pledge of Allegiance
where he will surprise his family. Chavez’s son Christian is a Miami
Beach Firefighter, and his two children Ivan and Jasmin, are currently in
the Miami Beach Fire recruit program.
We kindly request for this information to be embargoed until 6 p.m. so
that we can ensure the surprise for the Chavez family.
