In order to ensure Miami Beach residents are as up-to-date on the issues that matter most to them, the city has launched MB Resident Connect. MB Resident Connect is an electronic alert system that allows residents and interested stakeholders to set up keywords of interest and receive an alert when their topic is published on an agenda. This can include items placed on a Miami Beach City Commission meeting, committee meeting or any other public meeting. For example, a resident interested in parks can set up a keyword search for park. “It is very difficult for residents to keep track of topics that concern or interest them, and to know when things are being discussed so that they can have input and be part of the process,” said Miami Beach Commissioner John Elizabeth Alemán who spearheaded this initiative shortly after being elected. “It is overly time-consuming and unreasonable for residents to review all of the agendas for all of the public meetings to determine when and where their topics of interest will be heard or discussed at a city meeting. This new MB Resident Connect system allows residents to receive email alerts before the things they care about are discussed and decided, so everyone can be a resident activist and shape the future of Miami Beach!” To get started on MB Resident Connect, click here or visit: https://secure.miamibeachfl.gov/mbresidentconnect. ### To request this material in alternate format, sign language interpreter (five-day notice required), information on access for persons with disabilities, and/or any accommodation to review any document or participate in any city-sponsored proceedings, call 305.604.2489 and select 1 for English or 2 for Spanish, then option 6; TTY users may call via 711 (Florida Relay Service).
