Miami Beach was thrilled to host the production team on location and in hotels in the fall of 2015. “Moonlight is a beautiful, important, universal and uniting film that takes place in Miami and Miami Beach. Its Oscars win is another high-water mark for our cultural history,” said Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine. “The fabric of Miami Beach’s history is tied into filmed entertainment, from Frank Sinatra, Jackie Gleason and Miami Vice to Scarface and now Moonlight.
