Media is invited to attend. The tour will start from Lucali located at 1930 Bay Road and finish at the Sunset Harbour Boat Ramp. Neither New York City nor Miami Beach are strangers to rising flood plains and climate change challenges. As both cities are members of the 100 Resilient Cities — Pioneered by the Rockefeller Foundation, collaboration is of utmost importance. The Miami Beach Rising Above: Our Story of Resilience panel will focus on how Miami Beach has responded to the threat of sea level rise by investing in upgrades to public infrastructure and adopting policies to build resiliency into the city’s zoning and building regulations. Miami Beach panelists include moderator Mayor Philip Levine, City Manager Jimmy L. Morales, Assistant City Manager/Chief Resiliency Officer Susy Torriente, Assistant City Manager/Public Works Director Eric Carpenter, City Engineer Bruce Mowry, Executive Vice President of City/Urban Solutions CH2M Robert W. Bailey and Chief Growth Officer for Global DCS and AECOM’s Global Director of Resilience Josh Sawislak.
