Miami Beach Honors Veterans on Memorial Day
– With Wreath-Laying Ceremony and 21 Gun Salute –
WHO/WHAT: The City of Miami Beach, in partnership with the American Legion Miami
Beach Post and Veterans of Foreign W ars (VFW) Miami Beach Post
3559, will pay tribute to the memory of the men and women who fought
and died for freedom with a wreath-laying ceremony and 21-gun salute
this Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, 2017.
The ceremony commences at 7:45 a.m. at the War Memorial Cenotaph in
front of the Miami Beach Police Headquarters. Featured guests will be the
Miami Beach City Mayor and Commissioners, local elected officials,
American Legion Miami Beach Post and VFW Miami Beach Post 3559.
Miami Beach Girl Scout Paloma Baeumler with Troop 1239 will also be
handing our “Buddy Poppies,” the official memorial flower of the VFW .
Memorial Day ceremonies have been held in the City of Miami Beach for
over 50 years.
