In response to the Florida Legislature’s decision to pull funding from the State of Florida’s Film & Entertainment Incentive Program, the Miami Beach City Commission unanimously approved streamlining the film and photography guidelines to encourage and facilitate even more film and print production in Miami Beach, as well as a new a cash incentive of $100,000 which will serve as a seed fund expected to attract even more investment in local film production. “With Ocean Drive, South Beach and other iconic scenes of Miami Beach gracing the big screen, the film industry has helped our tropical metropolis become a world-class destination,” said Director of Tourism, Culture & Economic Development Eva Silverstein. “These new changes to the film and print guidelines along with an unprecedented incentive fund dramatically change the landscape for this industry in our City. We are encourag ing and supporting a new wave of film work, and are ready to partner and collaborate with local, national, and international industry leaders.” The approved guideline enhancements include:  Easier access to parking for qualified production companies.  A reduction in signed consents for low impact road or lane closures.  A reduction in the residential signature consent area.  Extending the number of free vehicle access passes.  Reinstate the motorhome parking allowances. ”Miami Beach will quickly become the friendliest place on earth to produce feature films, TV shows and print. Our residents have benefited tremendously from the international exposure gained through high quality production” said Daniel Davidson, Chairman of the Production Industry Council. “By enacting new and fair guidelines that balance the needs of businesses, residents and production companies we will restore that exposure by enticing some of the most prominent producers and directors to explore and showcase beautiful Miami Beach, a visual wonderland that is stronger and more vibrant than ever before.” As an official launch to these exciting new developments, The Temple House will be hosting a Cocktail Reception sponsored by the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau for production industry professionals to celebrate the roll out of a new era of filming and photography in the City of Miami Beach.
