With leadership from Marjory Stoneman Douglas alumni and in partnership with Miami Beach High School students, the city will host a March For Our lives rally on Saturday, March 24. To participate in the march, attendees are encouraged to arrive at Miami Beach Senior High School at 8 a.m., located at 2231 Prairie Avenue. The march will begin at 10 a.m. and travel to Collins Park via Dade Boulevard, taking a right on 23 Street and then another right on Liberty Avenue to flow into Collins Park (approximately a 15 minute walk). The rally/speaking program will commence at 11 a.m. and participants will parade back to Beach High at noon. All attendees are encouraged to wear white clothing. Confirmed attendees include: Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber and City Commission, Marjory Stoneman Douglas current students and alum, Emily Estefan, Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, Susan Windmiller of the Miami-Dade County League of Voters, as well as other special guests. Parking facilities in the City of Miami Beach are expected to fill up very quickly. Consider making arrangements to take a charter/shuttle bus, use Miami-Dade Transit bus service or take a ride sharing service. Lyft will be facilitating a limited amount of free rides within city limits for anyone attending the march. Visit www.lyft.com for details. If you must drive, parking for the march will be available at the City Hall Garage located at 1755 Meridian Avenue (entrance on Meridian Avenue and 18th Street) with free shuttle service to Beach High. Additional parking is available at the 17 Street Garage (entrance at 17 and Convention Center Drive) as well as Pennsylvania Avenue Garage (adjacent to 17 Street Garage, with an entrance on Pennsylvania Avenue and Lincoln Lane North, right off of 17 Street). Media Logistics Only live media trucks will be allowed to park at Miami Beach Senior High School and the Municipal Parking Lot No. P-52 located at 23 Street and Liberty Avenue (east side). All media should email tonyadaniels@miamibeachfl.gov if they plan to attend by Noon on Thursday, March 24. Credentialing will begin at Miami Beach Senior High School at 7 a.m. Pre-interviews with Mayor Dan Gelber and Miami Beach Youth Commission members will take place at 9 a.m. at Miami Beach Senior High School on the risers located near the valet location along Dade Boulevard.
