Miami Beach to Hold First Round of G.O. Bond Outreach Meetings

Miami Beach, FL – As the City of Miami Beach explores the idea of adding a General Obligation Bond
(G.O. Bond) to the November 6, 2018 voters’ referendum, residents are invited to learn more about the
bond process and provide input at public meetings scheduled as follows:

“We invite all residents to be an integral part of the G.O. Bond conversation as we discuss the
prioritization of projects and collect feedback on what projects matter most to each of them,” said Mayor
Dan Gelber.
A G.O. Bond is a way of financing the cost of physical improvements to the City’s neighborhoods,
streets, parks, beaches, public safety facilities and other facilities. G.O. Bonds are paid solely from
property taxes, and are used to fund projects that do not produce enough revenue to pay off the bonds.
These bonds may only be issued if approved by a majority of voters voting in a City-wide referendum.
