I am pleased to share that County Commissioner Eileen Higgins and the Miami Dade
County Board of County Commissioners are recognizing the City of Miami Beach for two
of our recent resilience accomplishments. One that helped maintain excellent ratings by
our credit agencies for the general obligation bond, which resulted in saving $28 million
in interest through a lower interest rate; and, the improvement in our National Flood
Insurance Program (NFIP) Community Rating System (CRS) Score, saving $8.3 million
in flood insurance premiums for our residents.
