Morales, City ManagerI A DATE: June 7, 2019 _) ,oft SUBJECT: Police Department Re-Accreditation Pubic Forum The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) has scheduled the Miami Beach Police Department for an On-Site Assessment as part of a program to achieve re-accreditation. Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: Policy and Procedures, Administration, Operations, and Support Services. As part of the on-site assessment, agency employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public information session on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 6:00pm in the Major James Smith Community Room, located at Miami Beach Police Department headquarters building at 1100 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach, Florida. If for some reason an individual cannot speak at the public information session but would still like to provide comments to the assessment team, they may do so by telephone. The public may call 305-673-7230 on June 25, 2019 between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Telephone comments as well as appearances at the public information session are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency's ability to comply with CALEA Standards.
