SUBJECT: TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF MAU ICE GIBB MEMORIAL PARK CONCRETE
DOCKS "PURDY BOAT RAMPS"-UPDATE
The purpose of this LTC is to update the Mayor and City Commission of temporary closures of
the three concrete boat docks located at Maurice Gibb Memorial Park (formerly Island View Park),
at the intersection of Dade Boulevard and Purdy Avenue. As of May 22 , 2019 , all necessary
permits have been obtained and community outreach has already started on this project.
In the upcoming 30 days, the contractor (Team Contracting) and the Engineer of Record (BCC
Engineering) will be working diligently on submittals and off-site platform precast slab fabrication
for this project. Site mobilization is scheduled for July 15 , 2019 . Marine Patrol Dock will be
targeted first followed by Purdy Docks . The construction process is estimated to be comp leted
within the next 45 days . These docks will remain closed for public use until project completion.
The NE portion of the parking lot will be temporarily closed to allow for mobilization of the pre-
fabricated concrete structures in order to expedite the project.

The contractor w ill mobilize on Monday, July 15 and is

Work hours for this project are 8 a .m. to 5 p .m., Monday
.through Friday. Extended work hours, holidays and
weekends are subject to City approval and community
notification . Please note that this schedule could change
due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.

• Boat ramp at Maurice Gibb Park will be closed during
the duration of this project.
• Temporary parking restrictions within the park.
• Equ i pment will be entering and exiting the project site
during work hours.
• Construction materials, machinery and personnel wil l
be presen t on the job site.
• Spray paint markings will be applied at utility
locations.
• Please expect some noise during work hours .
