SUBJECT: UPCOMING PARKS AND RECREA ON 2019 JULY EVENTS
Summer is here, and it's time to get your play on! In July we celebrate Park and Recreation month,
an initiative by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) which highlights the vital
and powerful role parks and recreation plays in communities all across the country. Lace up and
get in the game with this year's theme: #GameOn.
Event: Pups & Popsicles
Date: July 6, 2019
Time: 10:00 a.m. — 12:00 p.m.
Location: Washington Dog Park (201 2nd Street)
Cost: Free
Come show off your dog's incredible talents, and join us for a costume and best trick contest for
both you and your pup! Music, photo booth, giveaways, splash pad and doggie pool, and free ice
cream will be available, while supplies last.
Event: Toddlers Splash Bash
Date: July 12, 2019
Time: 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Location: Flamingo Park Pool (12th Street and Michigan Avenue)
Cost: Free
Parents and children under 4 are invited to join us for a morning of summer pool fun with music,
games, refreshments and more!
Event: 75th Annual Playground Revue
Date /Time: July 18, 2019 (for children in grades 4-12) 7:00 p.m. —8:30 p.m.
July 25, 2019 (for children in grades K-3) 6:30 p.m. — 8:30 p.m.
Location: The Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater (1700 Washington
Avenue)
We invite you to join us at the 76th Annual Playground Revue "Miami Beach Goes Totally 90's".
Marvel in the performances of the many talented children who attend our 2019 summer day
camps, and watch them dance and sing to musical genres from the 90's.

Event: Kayak Fun Day
Date: July 20, 2019
Time: 10:00 a.m. —2:00 p.m.
Location: Kayak Launch (West of Dickens Avenue, North of 73 Street)
Cost: $20 for double kayak rental
Explore our bay by kayak and experience nature from a new perspective. Kayaks are limited,
usage time will vary depending on participation. Two-hour max reservation and age restrictions
apply(5+ years old). A life jacket must be worn at all times and children under the age of 18 must
be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Pre-registration is mandatory and must be done online
at www.register.miamibeachparks.com.
Event: Beach Party for Seniors
Date: July 31, 2019
Time: 6:00 p.m. — 8:00 p.m.
Location: Miami Beach Convention Center (1900 Washington Avenue)
Cost: Free
Miami Beach residents 55+ are invited to a Beach Party themed event! RSVP in person at North
Shore Park, Scott Rakow Youth Center, Flamingo Park, or to Kevin Cobas at
kevincobas@miamibeachfl.gov.
