Morales, City Manager ~ar-for October 31 , 2019 Subject: City to Host Youth Job Fair The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to advise you that the City's Organizational Development and Performance Initiatives Department is collaborating with CareerSource South Florida to sponsor our bi-annual youth job fair for youth attending Miami Beach Senior High School on November 6, 2019. CareerSource South Florida/Miami Beach Center has engaged the following local area businesses to participate in this job fair to connect youth seeking jobs with employers seeking to hire: • COMO Metropolitan Hotel • Republic Parking System • LAZ Parking • Florida Education Institute • Michaels Arts & Crafts • American Guard Service • USA 2020 Census • Compu-Design USA d/b/a Dade • Elite Guard Institute of Technology • Greystone Hotel Miami Beach • The Harrison Hotel • Loews Miami Beach Hotel • New Horizons • SOS Staffing/parking Last year, 32 youth were employed following our May youth job fair. The Youth Commission is working to promote this upcoming event. We will continue to support our vision of being a prosperous city with a special flavor of arts, culture, education, and business with management objectives of being known for (K-12) educational excellence.
