Event: Glow in the Park
Date: February 7, 2020
Time: 6:30 p.m. — 9:30 p.m.
Locations: Flamingo Park (11th Street & Jefferson Avenue)
Come out and glow it up at our first-ever Glow in the Park party! Enjoy an evening of glow in the
dark crafts, games and much more. Refreshments for sale.
Event: Valentine's Day Party — Special Abilities Program
Date: February 8, 2020
Time: 1:30 pm — 3:30 p.m.
Location: North Shore Park Youth Center (501 72nd Street)
Participants in the Special Abilities Program will enjoy their annual Valentine's Day party filled
with love, food, dancing and desserts.
Event: Kids Run Miami (Miami Marathon)
Date: February 9, 2020
Time: 11:00 a.m.
Location: Downtown Miami
This event will encourage after-school program participants to complete the final mile of the Miami
Marathon. Participants have been training/running since October, and at the completion of this
event, participants will have run 25 miles over the course of 15 weeks.
Event: Danny Berry Baseball Opening Day
Date: February 9, 2020
Time: 9:00 a.m. — 5:00 p.m. (NSP) and 9:00 a.m. — 1:00 p.m. (Polo)
Location: North Shore Park (501 72"d Street) and Polo Park (4301 N Michigan Ave)
Take me out to the ball game! Danny Berry's winter baseball season is set to start soon with
games taking place at two separate locations. Grab a seat, bring your favorite ballpark treat and
get ready to watch the Miami Beach's crop of baseball all-stars in action.

Events: Learn to Swim Registration (for Flamingo Pool)
And Swim Team Registration (for Normandy Isle Pool)
Date: February 10, 2020
Time: 8:30 a.m. — 5:00 p.m.
Learn to Swim and Swim Team registration for the spring quarter (March — May) begins on
Monday, February 10'. Due to the pool renovations at Scott Rakow Youth Center, pool classes
will be taking place at the Flamingo Pool. Participants currently enrolled in the aquatics program
must visit the pool office prior to registration to receive their correct class level. Participants
interested, but not currently enrolled, will need to be evaluated for placement prior to registration.
Walk-in swim tests are given on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 2:30 p.m. — 4:00 p.m. and
Saturday and Sunday 1:30 p.m. — 4:30 p.m. Register and pay online by visiting

Event: University of Miami Fun Day — Special Abilities Program
Date: February 15, 2020
Time: 10:00 a.m. — 3:00 p.m.
Location: University of Miami (1320 S Dixie Highway)
Participants in our Special Abilities Program will join the University of Miami as they host an annual
day of giving. Students from the university pair with individuals with disabilities for a fun-filled day
of activities.
Event: Random Acts of Kindness Day
Date: February 18, 2020
Time: 3:00 p.m.
Location: All After-school Programs
Participants registered in the After-school Programs will decorate their own puzzle piece in honor
of Random Acts of Kindness Day, which will all be placed together for display to show that we all
fit together when we're kind.
Event: Black History Night Celebration
Date: February 20, 2020
Time: 6:30 p.m. — 8:00 p.m.
Locations: North Shore Bandshell (7275 Collins Avenue)
The City of Miami Beach in partnership with The Rhythm Foundation invites you to celebrate
Black History Month by recognizing the heritage, accomplishments and culture of African
Americans. Enjoy cultural performances from the City's after-school participants and special
guests. Admission is free and refreshments for sale.
Event: Movie in the Park
Date: February 21, 2020
Time: 6:00 p.m. — 9:00 p.m.
Location: South Pointe Park (1 Washington Avenue)
Enjoy a night under the stars watching the box office hit Aquaman. Admission and popcorn are
free, refreshments for sale. Don't forget to bring your blanket!

Event: Soul Vegan Festival
Date: February 22, 2020
Time: 12 p.m. — 5 p.m.
Locations: The Sand Bowl at Bandshell Park (7275 Collins Avenue)
Miami Beach Parks and Recreation invites you to bring your appetite to the City's 2nd annual
plant-based African American, Caribbean and Hispanic inspired Soul Vegan Festival. Enjoy a
day of music, games, and delicious food with the family. Admission is free, food and drinks for
sale.
Event: Winter/Spring Athletics Resident Registration
Date: February 24, 2020
Time: 8:30 am. — 5:00 p.m.
Location: Flamingo Park (999 11 Street), Scott Rakow Youth Center Pool (2700
Sheridan Avenue), and North Shore Park Youth Center (501 72 Street)
Programs available include Little Bailers Basketball, Mini Soccer Clinics, Travel Soccer

Event: Groove Dance Competition - Mauve Crew Hip Hop Dance Team
(Nautilus Teen Club)
Date: February 29, 2020
Time: 8:30 a.m. — 5:00 p.m.
Location: Broward College, Bailey Hall (3501 Davie Rd)
The Mauve Crew Hip Hop Dance Team will perform in their first competition of the year. Wish us
luck as we embark on having another great dance season!
