CULTURE CRAWL FIU TAKEOVE - JANUARY 16, 2020
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to update the Commission on the Miami Beach Culture Crawl FIU
Takeover night that took place on Thursday, January 16, 2020. Tourism and Culture partnered with Florida
International University Office of Engagement (FIU) for a special "FIU Takeover Night". At 6:20PM January 16th,
2020, a designated FIU Trolley departed from Miami Beach Urban Studies (MBUS) and guided guests on a curated
selection of Culture Crawl stops, including MBUS, The Wolfsonian, Miami Beach Botanical Gardens, Holocaust
Memorial Miami Beach, Collins Park, The Bass and Miami-Dade Public Library. FIU administration and students
were treated with curated Culture Crawl gift bags and a special performance by artist Jen Clay in Collins Park.

Due to the success of this event, the FIU Office of Engagement has
confirmed participation for the March 19, 2020 Culture Crawl. Tourism
and Culture is working collaboratively with FIU to curate a special
evening of culture with plans to continue the partnership throughout the
2020 Culture Crawl season and will be promoting these opportunities
to other educational establishments and businesses to increase
participation and engagement with the Culture Crawl.
