This culinary event will feature plant-based African-American, Caribbean and Hispanic-inspired foods. Exposing residents and visitors to dishes rooted in ethnic cooking traditions that are under-represented in veganism, the festival aims to promote health and wellness by demonstrating that any culture can remain authentic to their traditional cuisine and be vegan-friendly without sacrificing flavor. Attendees should expect bold new flavors in veganized versions of southern classics and Caribbean staples such as jerk chicken, southern fried chicken and Rasta Pasta as well as experience the culinary debut of an Ethiopian restaurant and specialized cold pressed juices courtesy of the Hungry Black Man. The family-oriented festival will feature a kid play zone with oversized games such as connect four, corn hole and an Imagination Playground. Extending play to individuals of all ages, an adult game zone will provide attendees a chance to play dominoes and beach tennis.
