Celebrate Simón Bolívar y Las Americas Day
– Monday, July 22 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.–
WHO/WHAT: Join the City of Miami Beach in its inaugural celebration of Simón Bolívar
y Las Americas Day on Monday, July 22 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Widely
celebrated throughout Latin America, the ceremony to commemorate
Simon Bolivar’s birthday pays tribute to El Libertador Bolívar for leading
nations in their independence from Spain. Inspired by the American
Revolutionary War, his courageous efforts set forward the creation of
several countries, including Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Peru
and Venezuela.
The Miami Beach Color Guard will open the ceremony, followed an
invocation by Father Albert Cutie and the laying of a wreath by the Office
of the Mayor and Commission, and other speakers. A portion of the
ceremony will recognize the current plight of the people of Venezuela and
their fight for liberation. Complimentary cafecito and pastries will be
served beginning at 10 a.m.

Celebra el Día de Simón Bolívar y Las Américas
– Lunes, 22 de julio de 10 a.m. hasta las 12 p.m.–
QUIÉN/QUÉ: Únase a la Ciudad de Miami Beach en su celebración inaugural del Día
de Simón Bolívar y Las Américas el lunes, 22 de julio de 10 a.m. a 12
p.m. Ampliamente celebrado en toda América Latina, Miami Beach rinde
homenaje al Libertador Bolívar para las naciones líderes en su
independencia de España. Inspirado por la Guerra de la Independencia
de los Estados Unidos, sus valientes esfuerzos lograron la independencia
de Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Panamá, Perú y Venezuela.
La Guardia de Honor de Miami Beach abrirá la ceremonia, seguida por
una invocación del Padre Albert Cutie y la colocación de una ofrenda
floral por parte de la Oficina del Alcalde y la Comisión, y otros oradores.
Una parte de la ceremonia reconocerá la difícil situación actual del
pueblo de Venezuela y su lucha por la liberación. Cafecito y pasteles de
cortesía se servirán a partir de las 10 a.m.
