This milestone marks the culmination of a continuous pedestrian path from South Pointe Park through 79 Street, accomplishing a beachwalk that connects North, Middle and South Beach for the first time in the city’s history. The ceremony will be followed by an event hosted by the Mid-Beach Neighborhood Association. Phase III of the project is anticipated to begin this fall, which will eliminate the original walking path between 23 and 45 streets.
