Atlantic Broadband Internet Assist for Miami Beach Families
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to share information on the City's partnership with
Atlantic Broadband to ensure that households with students have access to the internet to
facilitate online learning during the COVID-19 outbreak. Atlantic Broadband has introduced a
low-cost option referred to as Atlantic Broadband Internet Assist.
The service is available to serviceable residents in Miami Beach who are in financial need and
who do not presently have internet from Atlantic Broadband. The 15/1 Mbps Internet Assist
service is $9.99 per month plus tax and includes a free modem and free installation. Those
interested in learning more about the service should contact Atlantic Broadband at 855-594-
1249.
To qualify, families must be eligible for any of the following public assistance programs:
National School Lunch Program (NSLP), Public Housing Assistance, Medicaid, Supplemental
Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program
(LIHEAP), and/or Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children
(WIC). Families will be required to provide proof of eligibility subject to the review and
discretion of Atlantic Broadband.
We know that the COVID-19 situation has been a challenging one, especially for school
families, and together want to ensure that all Miami Beach youth have the connectivity needed
at this critical time.
