SUBJECT : Staffing Update/New Hires
This letter to the Mayor and City Commission is to provide information on the Miami
Beach Police Department's staffing plan as it pertains to nine new hires and recent
modifications.
The Miami Beach Police Department is pleased to announce that we have recently
released nine Probationary Officers from the Field Training Program, most of these will
fill voids created by recent retirements. The remaining additional officers will be
assigned to areas in the City that have been identified as having a need. These areas
include the following:
• An additional officer in the SOFNA area, on the afternoon shift, working Thursday,
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
• An additional officer working the 41 st Street area, on the afternoon shift, working
Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
• An additional officer in the North Area (71 st Street Business District), working on
the afternoon shift, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
These officers are a welcome addition to our department.
