SU BJEC T : Annual - Accessory Dwelling U "ts (ADUs) Ordinance
On October 16, 2019 the City Commission adopted ordinance 2019-4304. This ordinance
authorized the lease of ADU's to a family unrelated to the owners in owner-occupied single-family
homes that are located between Dade Boulevard on the south and Pine Tree Drive Circle on the
north. When the ordinance was adopted, the City Commission requested a one-year update via
LTC.
To date the City has not received any applications for the lease of ADU's within the authorized
area. However, the Planning Department has received several inquiries regarding ADU's in areas
where they are currently not authorized; in particular the North Beach and Palm View
neighborhoods.
