Aguila, Interim City Manager' ·assoc«orzs4so SUBJECT: December 17, 2020 5" Annual Miami Beach Youth Music Festival - Open Call For Artists The purpose of this L TC is to notify the Mayor and City Commission that the Rhythm Foundation, in partnership with the City of Miami Beach, will host the fifth annual Miami Beach Youth Music Festival at the North Beach Bandshell on Saturday, March 13, 2021. In 2021, the youth music festival (YMF) will take place as a hybrid in-person/virtual showcase of our City's most talented young musicians. Auditions are now open for those aged 18 years and younger, and for bands or individuals that perform live music of any genre such as rock, jazz, Latin, electronic, folk, classical, funk, and spoken word. Participants must be able to perform live and play a musical instrument; recorded music is not allowed. Additionally, at least one individual must also be a Miami Beach resident or attend a Miami Beach school. Participant applications can be found at www.miamibeach.rocks. The deadline to submit applications is 5:00 p.m. on January 31, 2021. All applicants must adhere to CDC guidelines for gatherings, practice social distance and mask wearing. More information regarding recommended precautions can be found on the festival website. Selected youth performers will be announced on or before Friday, February 12, 2021. The Miami Beach Youth Music Festival in March will include a variety of young artists, culminating with a performance by the Miami Beach Rock Ensemble and more rising stars to be announced in the new year!
