DATE: February 1, 2021 SUBJECT: Miami Foundation Report of Miami Beach Nonprofit CARES Grants I'm pleased to announce that more than 100 grants have been awarded to Miami Beach nonprofits as part of the Miami-Dade Nonprofit Support Grant Program. Nonprofits included are either based in Miami Beach or provide services within the city. City of Miami Beach 114 Grants - $3,144,572.30 The grants have allowed local nonprofits to continue delivering services and transition programming to online platforms. Miami Beach nonprofits received 114 grants, which represents 27% of total grants awarded. The total sum awarded to Miami Beach nonprofits is $3.15 million -28% of total grant dollars. In the wake of the COVID-19 crisis, The Miami Foundation, in partnership with Miami-Dade County, through its Department of Public Housing and Community Development (PHCD), offered one-time grants to support small nonprofits and the critical services they provide, to lead the Miami community through this time of hardship. MIAMI-DADE NONPROFIT SUPPORT GRANTS Application Stats and Support 608Applications Received $13.4 millionTotal Requested $26,522Average Grant Request The Miami Foundation team created clear, accessible program guidelines and supported applicants via webinars, office hours, and 24/7 email support. Commissioners served as key partners to help spread the word about the program. The Miami Foundation team worked diligently to review and process grants to eligible applicants. With the approval of additional funds by the County Commission, ALL eligible applicants were awarded grants! 423Grants Awarded $11.3 millionTotal Awarded $26,669Average Award Size Awarding Grants Grantees represented a wide array of the nonprofit organizations in Miami — serving diverse populations, from across 9 different sectors, all 34 municipalities of Miami-Dade County, and all 13 County Commission districts. The Nonprofit Support Grants program was a critical lifeline for local nonprofits and helped them to weather the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
