SUBJECT: DEADLINES TO PLACE ITEMS ON THE 2022 AUGUST PRIMARY AND/OR NOVEMBER
GENERAL ELECTIONS BALLOTS
Should the City of Miami Beach wish to conduct a special election along with the Countywide 2022,
Primary, and/or General Elections, the deadlines listed below must be followed, in order to allow
sufficient time for ballot preparation and to meet State-mandated deadlines to mail vote-by-mail ballots to
overseas voters.
Note that pursuant to Florida Statutes Section 100.151, "...the governing authority of a municipality shall
not call any special election until notice is given to the Supervisor of Elections and his (her) consent
obtained as to a date..."Once approval is obtained from the Supervisor of Elections,the resolution to call a
special election must be passed to meet the deadlines listed below.

GENERAL ELECTION No later than
November 8, 2022 Friday, July 29, 2022
