SUBJECT: Seagrape Trimming at 52 nd Street
The purpose of this L TC is to update the Mayor and City Commissioners on the trimming
of seagrapes (Coccoloba uvifera), that took place on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 52 Street
by City contracted personnel. Superior Landscape was retained by the City to trim the
seagrapes in accordance with the City's Dune Management Plan from approximately 52
-53 streets.
The Alexander Hotel contacted the City to request that the seagrapes adjacent to their
property be maintained to the specifications outlined in the Dune Management Plan. On
May 3, 2021, the Purchase Order was issued for the reduction and maintenance of
seagrapes behind the Alexander Hotel at 52 Street and, also including sections of dune
to the north to 54 Street.
