SUBJECT: Mayor's Art Deco Cultural District Panel Motion
This Letter to Commission {"L TC") provides an update regarding a motion unanimously
approved at the July 16, 2021 meeting of the Mayor's Art Deco Cultural District Panel.
Members Present: Jonathan Plutzik (Chair), Jonathan Freidin (Vice Chair), Nisi
Berryman, Daniel Giraldo, Tom Donall, Ricardo Dopico, Robin
Jacobs, Kim Kovel, Jane Krupp, Salem Mounayyer, Jennifer
Roberts, Curtis Slipman, and John Stuart.
Motion: To express support for the City Commission's initiatives and the allocation of
funding for cultural activations in Lummus Park and elsewhere in the Art Deco
Cultural District. Recognizing the important role of placemaking, cultural
activations should be community-building and based on an educational or
nonprofit ideology.
