SUBJECT: Reopening of North Beach Oceanside Park
In response to the Champlain Towers catastrophe, North Beach Oceanside Park has been
used as a staging site for federal, state, and local response teams.
Since said teams are demobilizing, the park will be reopening effective tomorrow morning,
July 27, 2021. All regular park activities will be resuming, including
pavilion rentals. Portions of the park where response equipment remain will continue to
be secured. The City will coordinate restoration of all park areas to pre-staging conditions
through response partners.
The closure of a City park is not an easy decision to make. However, in this case, it was
a necessary one . The park proved an essential resource for the response efforts.
