Upcoming Parks and Recreation October 2021 Events
Event: Parks & Rec Goes Pink!
Date: Throughout the month of October
Location: North Shore Park (501 72nd Street), Flamingo Park (999 11th Street),
South Pointe Park (1 Washington Avenue), Scott Rakow Youth
Center (2700 Sheridan Avenue), Nautilus Middle School (4301 N.
Michigan Avenue), Muss Park (4300 Chase Avenue), Normandy Isle
Park (7030 Trouville Esplanade)
Parks & Recreation will host different fundraisers every Friday throughout the month of
October at different facilities to help raise money towards breast cancer awareness. All
proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Event: Anti-Bullying Awareness Month
Date: Throughout the month of October
Location: North Shore Park (501 72nd Street), Flamingo Park (999 11th Street),
South Pointe Park (1 Washington Avenue), Scott Rakow Youth
Center (2700 Sheridan Avenue), Nautilus Middle School (4301 N.
Michigan Avenue), Muss Park (4300 Chase Avenue), Normandy Isle
Park (7030 Trouville Esplanade)
The participants in the After-school, Play Time and Teen Club programs will be
participating in different anti-bullying awareness activities throughout the month of
October including group work, art projects, guest speakers and more.
Event: Hispanic Heritage Festival
Date: October 15, 2021
Time: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Location: North Shore Park (501 72nd Street)
Fee: Free but ticket is REQUIRED for entrance and space is limited
A celebration of Hispanic culture. Performances by children participating in the Parks
and Recreation Department After School program, concessions, strolling performances
(stilt walkers, balloon artists, etc.), arts and crafts and more. Tickets can be reserved
starting Monday, October 5 by visiting www.register.miamibeachparks.com.

Event: Movie in the Park
Date: October 24, 2021
Time: 7:30 p.m. (sundown)
Location: Muss Park (4300 Chase Avenue)
Fee: Free
Bring your blankets and enjoy a fun night under the stars watching the box office hit
Goosebumps 2. Each group will have their own pod (12x12 circle – maximum 5 people
per pod). Limited pods available. Reserve your pod at

Event: Zombie Takeover Lasertag Halloween Event
Date: October 29 and October 30, 2021
Time: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Location: North Shore Park Youth Center Gymnasium (501 72nd Street)
Fee: $5 per game
Survive the 2021 Zombie Apocalypse as you make your way through an abandoned
hospital using the latest zombie elimination equipment. Tickets sold at the door. Masks
required throughout play.
Event: Drive Thru Trick or Treat Street
Date: October 31, 2021
Time: 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Location: Scott Rakow Youth Center (2700 Sheridan Avenue)
Fee: $10.00 / vehicle
Join us at our child-friendly, drive-thru Trick or Treat Street for younger children ages 3-7
(all ages are welcome). Journey through our Trick or Treat Street at the Scott Rakow
Youth Center parking lot where you will be greeted by your favorite characters and will
safely receive candy. Limited pre-sale tickets will be sold beginning Monday, October 18,
at 10:00 a.m. at www.register.miamibeachparks.com .
