Wellness Services for Active Employees
The purpose of this L TC is to update the Mayor and City Commission on the status of Request for
Qualifications (RFQ) No. 2022-042-WG, which seeks statements of qualifications from firms interested
in contracting with the City to develop and implement a wellness program for employees and their
families. The wellness program is intended to help participants adopt behaviors that reduce health
risks and improve quality of life. Wellness programs have demonstrated enhanced personal
effectiveness for individuals and benefits to the organization's bottom line.
The City received proposals pursuant to this RFQ on December 3, 2021. The responsive proposals
will be reviewed by the Evaluation Committee in accordance with the criteria established in the RFQ.
I have appointed the following individuals to serve on the Evaluation Committee:
• Marvin Adams, Employee Benefits Manager, Human Resources Department;
• Theresa Buigas, Administrative Services Manager, Procurement Department;
• Cynthia Casanova, Assistant Director, Parks & Recreation Department;
• Frank Estevez, Compensation Manager, Human Resources Department; and
• Shari Lipner, Emergency Management Division Administrator, Department of Emergency
Management.
I have also appointed the following individuals as alternates:
• Sonia Bridges, Division Director, Risk Management, Human Resources Department;
• Tatiana Mendez, Human Resources Specialist, Human Resources Department; and
• Karen Muir, Director of Risk Management, City of North Miami.
