City of Miami Beach, 1700 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, FL 33139, www.miamibeachfl.gov OFFICE OF MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS, Tel: 305.673.7575 PRESS RELEASE Tonya Daniels, E-mail: tonyadaniels@miamibeachfl.gov Melissa Berthier, E-mail: melissaberthier@miamibeachfl.gov FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE April 6, 2021 City of Miami Beach Updates State of Emergency Relating to the High Impact Period – Canceling 8 p.m. Curfew – Miami Beach, FL – Today, the Miami Beach Interim City Manager has updated the City’s State of Emergency relating to the High Impact Period — canceling the 8 p.m. curfew imposed each Thursday through Sunday evening in the area bounded by 5 Street on the south, 16 Street on the north, Pennsylvania Avenue on the west, and Ocean Drive on the east (known as the “High Impact Zone”). However, the Countywide curfew in response to the COVID-19 pandemic remains in effect from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. daily. On Friday, April 9, 2021 and Saturday, April 10, 2021, a license plate reader police detail will be utilized on the eastbound lanes of the MacArthur Causeway from approximately 10 p.m. until no later than 6 a.m. each night. Commencing on Thursday, April 8, 2021 through the morning of Monday, April 12, 2021, from 8 p.m. through 6 a.m. each night, all sidewalk café operations, including expanded outdoor restaurant seating, will be SUSPENDED in the High Impact Zone. All sidewalk café operators are directed to stack or remove tables and chairs no later than 8 p.m. each night. These measures will not apply to the Española Way corridor between Pennsylvania Avenue and Washington Avenue.
