Hudak explained. “The event is being led by the National Alliance on Mental Illness, which strives to reduce stigma toward the mentally ill. That’s a particularly relevant topic this year as we emerge from a global pandemic that has left so many people feeling isolated and vulnerable.” Anyone wishing to join the NAMIWalks Your Way Miami-Dade virtual event on Saturday can decide how they want to participate — from walking on a treadmill at home to walking around outside in their neighborhood. They can also practice yoga or create a painting. Miami-Dade organizers plan to livestream Saturday’s opening ceremony. For more information, visit www.NAMIMiami.org.
