SUBJECT: Mauve Crew Dance Team Wins 1 st Place at the Florida Miami Meltdown Cheer &
Dance Competition
The Parks and Recreation Department is proud to announce the 1 st place win by the hip-hop
dance team, Mauve Crew, at the FCDA Miami Meltdown Cheer and Dance Competition held on
February 5, 2022. Mauve Crew dance programming is available to Nautilus Middle School youth
through the Miami Beach Parks and Recreation's teen club program.
The dancers were awarded medals and a 1 st place trophy. 'This is one of my youngest teams
ever, but also one of the most talented," said Mauve Crew dance coach Melisa Yanes. The team's
goal is to continue competing locally at a high level and to be invited to the National Competition
in Orlando. Their next competition will be the Florida Cheer and Dance Association Beach Battle
on Saturday, March 12, 2022, in Miami Gardens.
