Together with our community partners, we will be hosting events to educate our residents, visitors, and staff regarding the beauty of our natural resources and the importance of protecting our environment. • Friday, April 1 -We <3 Biscayne Bay Campaign Launch/Yappy Hour *Postponed* Maurice Gibb Memorial Park (18 th Street and Purdy Ave)-5:00PM to 8:00PM Out of an abundance of caution, the official launch of the We <3 Biscayne Bay Campaign with a Yappy Hour has been postponed due to the spread of Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease Complex (CIRDC). The highly contagious virus can pose serious health risk to dogs. The event will be rescheduled to a later date and will be launched in partnership with several commun ity partners. http ://www.mbrisinqabove.com/biscaynebay • Friday, April 1 -Sea Turtle Season April 1 -October 31 Sea Turtle season is officially here! Multiple city departments are collaborating to help protect our favorite marine friends. The community is encouraged to reduce the impacts to sea turtles by switching to sea turtle friendly lighting, closing blinds or curtains at night, and keeping a distance from sea turtles and their nests. www.mbrisinqabove .com/seaturtles • Monday, April 4 -Community Tree Giveaway *Registration required* Online registration In preparation for Arbor Day , the City will host a tree giveaway event. Registration for this event will be launched on this day. The first 100 residents that register will be eligible to have a tree personally delivered to their home by the Urban Forestry Division. Deliveries will be carried out the last week of the month and tree options will include multiple native fruit and flowering trees. BE305 is a free, voluntary program focused on increasing energy and water efficiency in large buildings across the County. Attendees will learn more about the many initiatives the City and MBBG have partnered on including composting, native landscaping, and pollinators . This ceremony will promote the importance of the urban forest and will re-qualify the city to receive the Tree City USA designation.
