SUBJECT: Homeless Point in Time Census-August 18, 2022
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to advise that the City's Homeless Outreach Office
will be participating in the countywide Point in Time Census managed by the Miami-Dade County
Homeless Trust on August 18-19, 2022.
The bi-annual census is the physical count of the homeless on City streets between 1 0pm on
Thursday, August 18th and 6am on Friday, August 19th, 2022.
The Homeless Outreach Office will close at noon on Thursday, August 18th and will remain closed
Friday, August 19th, 2022 to enable staff participation in the census. The office will re-open on
Monday, August 22nd and resume normal operations. Miami Beach Police officers are able to
make direct shelter placements during this time.
