SUBJECT: HISPANIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE MOTIONS
The purpose of this Letter to Commission {L TC) is to inform the Mayor and City
Commission of the following Motions passed by the Hispanic Affairs Committee at their
September 21, 2022 meeting:
Members present on Teams:
Gabriel Paez, Grace Calvani, Rosary Plana Falero, Liliana Martinez, Carmen Datorre,
and Gustavo Briand
Member absent:
Angel Triana
Staff Present: Leonor Hernandez, Commission Liaison
MOTION:
Motion to request that the Simon Bolivar bust remain in its permanent and present
location at Collins Park and that the bust of Benito Juarez be placed wherever the City
Administration sees fit.
Motion made by Grace Calvani
Motion seconded by Liliana Martinez
Motion unanimously approved all members present on Teams
MOTION:
Motion to ask the City Administration for up to $7,000.00 to be used exclusively for the
2022 Hispanic Heritage Awards Ceremony to be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at
6 p.m. in the Normandy Shores Golf Course.

Motion seconded by Rosary Plana Falero
Motion unanimously approved by all members present on Teams
