Let your imagination run wild! Visit our pop-up Imagination Playground activation this
month and discover the wonders of building your very own playground using state-of-the-
art foam playground pieces and your imagination!
Event: Movie in the Park

Fee: Free
Bring your blankets and enjoy a fun night under the stars watching the box office hit Lady
& The Tramp (live version 2019), rated PG. Popcorn is will be handed out and
refreshments will be available for sale.
Event: Commissioner Mark A. Samuelian Scholastic Chess Tournament
Date: November 20, 2022
Time: 9:00 a.m. -3:30 p.m.
Location: Scott Rakow Youth Center (2700 Sheridan Avenue)
Open to aspiring chess players in grades K to 12. The tournament offers trophies for up
to 10 places in each division (K-5 and middle/high school) based upon registration. This
event is free, but you must pre-register. There will be no registrations at the door. This
tournament is being held in memory of Commissioner Samuelian. To register, visit

Participants enrolled in the After School and Play Time Programs will be participating in
fundraising activities promoting awareness for Men's Health Month. Funds raised will be
donated to the Movember Foundation which raises awareness on men 's health .

You've Been "Gobbled"

11 th Street), Scott Rakow Youth Center (2700 Sheridan Avenue)
To spread appreciation throughout the month of November, the Parks and Recreation
Department will be "Gobbling" over 150 families by giving participants a kind note and a
treat. The note will encourage all participants to pay it forward and show their neighbors
some love during the holiday season. Pick up your treat bag at a park near you today.
Once you have been "gobbled," we ask that you share a picture on social media with the
hashtag #MBParks.

The Parks and Recreation Department has organized a team for the annual Autism
Speaks Miami Walk. Please join the "City of Miami Beach Parks & Rec" team and the
Social Club (for participants with developmental disabilities) for this event, and together
we can raise awareness and funds for Autism Speaks . Donations may be made by visiting
the austim speaks website at www.aut ismspeaks .org , selecting the "Miami Walk" and
searching our team name "City of Miami Beach Parks & Rec".

During the Thanksgiving Break, participants enrolled in the After School and Teen Club
Program will participate in an array of Thanksgiving activities. Participants will enjoy
delicious meals and spend quality time together celebrating the giving season.

Event: Social Club Thanksgiving Party

Participants with developmental disabilities enrolled in the Social Club and their families
are invited to come and enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving feast with all the trimmings.
Event: Turkey Trot for After School Participants
Date: November 22, 2022
Time: 4:00 p.m. -5:00 p.m.
Location: Flamingo Park (12 th Street & Meridian Avenue)
Children enrolled in the After School program will be participating in a fun Turkey Trot
event and fundraiser. Activities include races , a dunk tank, pie throwing and more . A $5
donation and at least two canned goods are suggested to participate . All funds raised will
be donated to the Movember Foundation which raises awareness for men's health during
the month of November.
