Attachment: Sustainability Committee Motion r :·. c REG/AK/AB DocuSign Envelope ID : 3CA9EB6A-3875-489C-B37E-CCC85817F893 City of Miami Beach Sustainability Committee Members Margarita Kruyff • Ja son Koslowe • Michael Defilippi • Johann Moore • Maria Algarra TO: FROM: SUBJECT: Mayor Dan Gelber and Members of the City Commission Margarita Kruyff, Sustainability Committee Chair DATE: November 14, 2022 Sustainability Committee Motions Dear Honorable Mayor and City Commission, The Sustainability Committee met on October 27, 2022 and passed the motions below: • The Sustainability Committee recommends the inclusion of a panel and/or discussion on food waste at Aspen Ideas: Climate 2023 and further recommends inviting Food Rescue US South Florida to speak on the success of their food rescue initiatives in South Florida, including at the Miami Beach Convention Center and large hotels, grocery stores, and festivals across the city and region. • The Sustainability Committee recommends City Administration to include, in the bid documents for the selection of a trolley service provider, a selection criterion which prioritizes the bidder who maximizes electrification of the trolley fleet as part of their proposal.
