SU BJECT : COMMISSION CHAMBERS RENOVATION PROJECT UPDATE
The purpose of this L TC is to update the Mayor and City Commission on the status of the
Commission Chambers remodeling project , as originally advised via L TC# 343-2022.
The Construction Phase of the project was previously planned to commence in December
2022 and run through March 2023. However, project pricing significantly exceeded the
available budget, thus necessitating a temporary postponement of the project's execution.
The Facilities Management Division is currently working with the Design Consultant,
Will iam Lane Architect, Inc. to revise the Permit Drawings in order to rebid the project in
February, with the aim to implement during summer 2023.
It is likely that this project will require an additional budget allocation in order to execute
successfully.
The remodel will affect both the 3rd and 4th f loor port ions of t he Commission Chambers at
City Hall, renovating a combined total area of approximately 4 ,025 square feet.
The Facilities Management Division will take the necessary steps to host Commission and
Committee meetings at an alternate location during the Construction Phase of the project.
