SUBJECT: Homeless Point in Time Census -January 26th , 2023
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to advise that the City's Homeless Outreach Services
Office will be participating in the countywide Point in Time Census managed by the Miami-Dade
County Homeless Trust on January 26-27, 2023.
The bi-annual census is the physical count of the homeless on City's streets between 1 0pm on
Thursday, January 26 th , and 6am on Friday, January 27 th , 2023.
The Homeless Outreach Services Office will close at noon on Thursday, January 26 th , and will
remain closed Friday, January 27 th , 2023 to enable staff participation in the census. The office will
re-open on Monday, January 30 th , and resume normal operations. Miami Beach Police
Department officers are able to make direct shelter placements during this time.
Staff will provide an update on Point in Time Census results via a subsequent Letter to
Commission. If you have any questions, please contact Alba Tarre, Director, Office of Housing
