SUBJECT: Personnel Board Group 2 Vacancy - Special Election
Due to the retirement of Eduardo Carranza, Senior Building Inspector, a vacancy was created in the
Personnel Board for the Group 2 Employees' Representative. A Special Personnel Board Election
was called to elect the Group 2 Employees' Representative, who is to be elected by the
Probationary and Regular Group 2 Employees. The newly elected Group 2 Employees'
Representative will hold office for the remainder of the term expiring on July 31, 2025. (Pursuant to
City Code Section 2-190.69, Composition, Group 2 "consist of employees in clerical and executive
positions.")
Pursuant to City Code Section 2-190.69, the Office of the City Clerk commenced Special Election
procedures to elect the employee representative of Group 2 for the vacancy on the Personnel
Board.
On January 18, 2023 a notice was sent to eligible Group 2 Employees informing them that a Special
Election had been called to elect the Group 2 Employees' Representative to the Personnel Board.
The notice was disseminated via Citywide e-mail, with instructions to post and distribute the notice
among Group 2 Employees. Group 2 Employees had from January 23, 2023 to February 3, 2023 to
declare their interest in qualifying to run as the Group 2 Employees' Representative on the
Personnel Board.
Jose Obando, from the Parking Department, was the only employee who filed to fill the vacancy in
Group 2; therefore, Jose Obando was deemed elected without opposition as the Group 2
Employees' Representative to the Personnel Board, to fill the term expiring on July 31, 2025.

We, the undersigned Clerk and W itness do hereby certify that:
