SUBJECT: Brittany Bay Park -- Project Completion
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to inform the Mayor and City Commission
on the completion of construction at the Brittany Bay Park Project, formerly known as
Indian Creek Park, located at 6430 Indian Creek Drive. The renovation of the park
included a new seawall and a living shoreline area with an overlook, new lighting, new
exercise equipment, and concrete walkways. Additional mangrove trees and other
native, resilient wetland plant species were planted within the living shoreline, while
additional landscaping, trees and shrubs were provided throughout the park.
The project received partial funding from the G.O. Bond Infrastructure Project: Seawalls
and Shorelines, and from The Nature Conservancy.
The Contractor, Florida Construction and Engineering Inc., is substantially complete, and
the park will be opened to the public starting March 6, 2023.
A grand opening and ribbon cutting event will be scheduled shortly.
