SUBJECT: FLORIDA FRESH MARKETS EXPANSION UPDATE
The purpose of this L TC is to update the Mayor and City Commission on the status of the
expansion of Florida Fresh Market artisanal markets to additional neighborhoods
throughout the City.
The 41 st Street Market currently located on 4166 Royal Palm Avenue (parking lot) has not
yielded the expected turnout in the first two weeks of operation. This location was
originally selected given the abundant parking available for patrons and vendors alike in
addition to a large amount of surrounding space to accommodate any future expansion of
the market. As a result of the lower-than-expected turnout, the City and the vendor have
agreed to move the market to Harry Liebman Square - 41° Street and Pine Tree Drive
beginning Sunday, March 12, 2023.
The Collins Park Plaza market location launched on Saturday, March 4, 2023 and was
well received by the community. The last market location, Normandy Fountain Plaza, is
scheduled to open Fall 2023. The Administration has been in communication with the
Normandy Fountain Plaza Business Association and the information has been received
with excitement and anticipation.
