SUBJECT: Art in Public Places Committee Motion- April 18, 2023 The purpose of this letter to the Mayor and Commission is to provide an update regarding a motion made during the April 18, 2023 Art in Public Places ("AIPP") Committee meeting. The Art in Public Places Committee made a motion not to proceed with the proposed Flaming(o) Menorah, as presented by Ari Teman. Motion made by Ann-Kathrin Seif, seconded by Gabriel Paez, unanimously approved. As set forth in Article V11 Sec. 82-562 of the City Code, the Art in Public Places Committee shall have the following powers and duties: • To make a recommendation to the city commission regarding proposed projects that include works of art and to participate in the planning of such projects. • To make recommendations to the city commission regarding the placement of proposed-donations of works of art for placement on public property in the city.
