City of Miami Beach Hall of Fame Update- 2023
The purpose of this letter to the Mayor and Commission is to provide an update regarding
the 2023 Hall of Fame nomination process. The Hall of Fame Committee is comprised of
nine (9) members, including seven (7) direct and two (2) at large appointments. The
following nine individuals have been appointed to the Hall of Fame Committee: Mayor
Matti Bower, Robin Jacobs, Lizette Lopez, Jo Manning, David Nguah, Jeffrey Rynor,
David Sexton, Ceci Velasco and Randy Weisburd.
The Hall of Fame Committee held its first meeting on Thursday, May 18th at 2 PM and
was provided access to the applications and score sheets for review. On Friday,June 9"
at 10AM, the Committee will reconvene to make recommendations for inductees into the
2023 Hall of Fame. The recommendations will be presented at the June 28" City
Commission meeting.
The Hall of Fame applications were open February 15- May 1, 2023 and resulted in
eighteen (18) nominations. The application process was extended through Wednesday,
May 17, 2023 at 4PM, resulting in four (4) additional nominations. The twenty-two (22)
nominations for the 2023 Hall of Fame are noted as follows:
