Granado, City Clerk ;7M May 23, 2023 Historic Preservation Board Recommendations - Rooftop Addition Regulations & Incentives for the Adaptation of Contributing Buildings within the City's Historic Districts. At their May 9, 2023 meeting, the Historic Preservation Board (HPB) held a discussion regarding a proposed amendment to the City's Land Development Regulations to allow for single-story rooftop additions in the RM -3 zon ing district between Lincoln Road and 18" Street. As part of this discussion , the Board unanimously approved the following motions with six (6) members present: 1. The Board recommends that the Mayor and City Commission consider directing the Administration to explore harmonizing development regulations for rooftop additions in order to address any ambiguity or inconsistencies that may exist and to establish more equity within each district. 2. The Board recommends that the Mayor and City Commission explore options to support historic preservation and encourage resilient improvements through the introduction of a possible funding mechanism to balance the a/location of additional development rights for large projects with the needs of smaller projects within the City's historic districts.
